EXPERIENCER THERAPY / PAST LIFE REGRESSION (or Here We Go Again!)

The human mind is one of the most amazingly complex, convoluted things in the universe.  If you don’t believe that, just try to explain some of the dreams you have had, your teenage daughter's addiction to social media, or your inexplicable fear of toast.  If that doesn’t prove it, nothing will.  Those of us who navigate the labyrinth of the human mind in an attempt to bring some order to the chaos know there’s nothing simple when it comes to the human psyche or its expression in behavior.  Past Life Regression (PLR) is one way to explore the labyrinth.   Many experiencers ask me about the safety and efficacy of PLR to explore or piece together memories of ET contact/abduction events, so here are some FAQs that might be helpful.

Q:    What is Past Life Regression?
A:    PLR involves standard hypnosis techniques and guided imagery.  It is safe and most people find it very interesting.  PLR is a useful therapeutic tool for helping people break habits, overcome fears and phobias, change negative mental programming, and recover memories.  PLR is also a popular tool for self-exploration and spiritual development - even if you find out that you really weren’t Cleopatra or Jesus Christ in a past life.

Q:    I know I have had ET contact, should I get PLR to remember?
A:    PLR is only one of the therapies used to recover and integrate ET contact memories; an experienced skilled therapist will help you decide what is best for you.

Q:    Do you really go back in time?
A:    No.  It may seem like it, but PLR is not time travel.  Which is good, because you might not be able to out run that dinosaur this time.  In PLR, you remain firmly rooted in the present, while recalling your lives in the past.  PLR therapy requires that you accept – or at least be open-minded to - the possibility that you have lived lives before this.  If you believe that the here-and-now is all there is, you probably won’t be successful with PLR.

Q:    Is it possible to see future lives?
A:    Yes.  You may see lives that haven't happened yet.  No one knows how that's possible, but it does sometimes happen.

Q:    Will PLR work for me?
A:    Yes, if you want it to and are open to the process.  PLR isn't something that a hypnotherapist makes you do.  It is an exploration that you do with the guidance and help of a hypnotherapist.  PLR is more challenging than standard hypnosis because it’s necessary to achieve a trance state deeper than in standard hypnosis.  It may take a little work, but most people are successful.  And the good news is that hypnosis is a skill that can be developed, so the more you do it, the easier it will be.  Be patient and non-judgmental  and you will succeed.

Q:    Can I be hypnotized?
A:    About 25% of the general population are very easily hypnotized. The remaining 75% - the majority of the population – may have a little difficulty, but are hypnotizable.  Individuals who suffer from certain mental, psychological or developmental illnesses, attention deficit disorders or heavy drug or alcohol use, may not be hypnotizable.  Otherwise, everyone who wants to be hypnotized can be.  Remember that you can never be hypnotized if you don't want to be - and you can never be hypnotized into doing anything you don’t want to do.  You’re always in control.

Q:    How do I know if what I’m seeing and experiencing in hypnosis is real or if I’m just making it up?
A:    This is probably the most common question I get.  My answer is always the same – if you are making it up, you will know you are.  If you have a doubt, then your experience is probably real.  Doubt is normal.  It’s simply your logical, conscious mind doing its job.  Your therapist can explain how your mind works and what to expect.

Q:    What if I don’t like the lifetime I see?
A:    You can choose to be completely immersed in a life you are viewing or to remain detached.  Your therapist will help you deal with anything that may be uncomfortable for you.  And you are always in charge and can move on to another life or end the session anytime you want.  Keep in mind that even though you are the same person you were three lifetimes ago, the circumstances then were different from today.  You may see yourself doing things or even being a certain type of person you would never do or be now.  But don’t judge yourself because of who you were.  Whoever you were was a human being worthy of respect with something to teach you today.

Q:    Will my session be recorded?
A:    That’s up to you and your therapist.  But most people do record their sessions in order to fully remember what they experienced.  Also, in the days, weeks and months after your PLR session, memories may continue to come back to you in pieces, and listening to the recording can be helpful in putting those memories into context.  Some therpists may allow videotaping of sessions.

Q:    Should I go to a hypnotist who is specially trained in PLR?
A:    Again, that’s up to you.  PLR is safe, but it’s more complicated than other types of therapy, so it’s better to seek out a therapist who has specialized training in it.  A Certified Hypnotherapist is your best bet.  You’ll have a better experience and get more for your money.  PLR downloads and CDs are a waste of time and money for most people.

Q:    What results can I expect?
A:    You can expect an interesting and maybe even life-changing experience.  But keep in mind that any hypnotist or therapist who says he or she can guarantee 100% success with 100% of the people, 100% of the time, is either delusional or just interested in separating you from your hard-earned cash.  There are some very skilled hypnotists, but the success of any type of hypnotherapy session – and especially PLR - is based not only on the skill of the therapist, but also on the client, and is affected by many things.

Comments from a few of my PLR clients:

“It was an amazing experience.  I don’t know what to think.  I was more relaxed than I’ve been in a long time.  It’s like I’ve just been watching a movie.  I was just there and it was happening.  Wow.”  C.J.

“It was like you said – things were kinda foggy right after the session.  But a few days later, I started remembering things from early in my childhood, and I could see how they came from the past life I saw.  I’ve always known there were special connections with me and my father and now I know why.”  R.P.

“Wow.  It wasn’t like I thought it would be at all.  At first I couldn't see anything, but then it just came together.  I never thought I would be able to do something like this.  Thanks for your patience and help.”  A.L.

“I listened to the recording of my session last night.  I’m stunned.  Even though I was a woman in my past life, I know it was me.  This answers a lot of questions and opens up others.”  R.M.

“When can I do it again?”  T.D.
